Williams' publicist said he had been battling "severe depression of late." He struggled with alcohol and cocaine addiction. He was gifted to touch many lives through the screens, but nobody could see his ailing heart. The gradual torment that loneliness hurl at him had drove him to the wine cellar and to seek substance. Destiny cruelly required him to bring joy to others at the expense of his own.
Obituary
Known as the funny man, you had brought cheer and laughter with idiosyncrasies and queer accents. You made a lasting impression to us as an intellectual dramatist in Dead Poet Society. Now the world will mourn for this dead poet of multi-talent. Rest in peace Robin McLaurin Williams.
